Good
morning, Whitehall!
ALL
SENIOR ONLINE COURSES NEED TO BE COMPLETED BY THE 24th.
Anyone
interested in running for a class officer or student council representative
needs to pick up an application ASAP. Juniors need to pick up an
application from Ms. Romine and freshmen and sophomores need to pick up an
application from Mrs. Medendorp. Your
application, letters of recommendation, and your speech are due back to those
teachers by Tuesday, May 22. Late applications will NOT be
accepted. Class elections will be held on Friday, May 25.
Juniors,
sophomores and freshmen, starting May 21st – we will no longer allow
students to charge lunches.
The
Media Center will be closing Friday, May 18th for the rest of the
school year. All resources will need to be returned at that time for
inventory. The computer labs are still running and students and the lab
will be open for students working on school work.
Seniors-
If you would like your open house to be on a list distributed to the senior
class please put your information on the list in the office by May 23rd.
Attention
Prom 2012 attendees: You MUST, I repeat, MUST bring your prom ticket with
you to prom. You will not be allowed into prom without your ticket!
If you are bringing a guest who does not attend Whitehall, they MUST, I repeat
MUST, bring their prom ticket AND photo ID or they will not be allowed into
prom. Bottom Line…No prom ticket or photo ID (guests only), NO entry!!!!
Please no whining at prom that you didn’t know about this because it will be in
the announcements all week!! Your loving prom advisor,

ATHLETICS
The Whitehall Boys Track team finished
another dominating Conference performance yesterday. They won their ninth
straight Conference title and their 14th Conference Championship
Meet. The boys outscored 2nd place Oakridge by 46
points. Individual Conference Champions were Antwan
Burks in the 100 and 200 meter sprints, Matt Ferguson in the 400 meter SPRINT,
Tyler Goerbig in the Shot Put, Dylan Hall in the
Discus, and Nick DeCouto in the Long Jump. Nick
DeCouto was just 3 inches short of the school record
that has stood for 52 years. Relay Conference Champions were the 800
Relay made up of John Beeghley, Cameron Lewis, Nick DeCouto, and Antwan Burks and
also the 1600 meter relay made up of John Beeghley,
Kyle Meuller, Nick DeCouto,
and Matt Ferguson. Other great performers – finishing 2nd or 3rd
were the 3200 m relays (Tyler Grove, Seth Schmiedeknecht, Oliver Arndt, and
Kyle Meuller)) and the 400 m Relay (Logan Goins, Antwan Burks, John Beeghly, and Cameron Lewis), Isaac Love in High Jump, Logan
Goins in Long Jump, and Dylan Hall in the Shot
Put. Seniors John Beeghley, Kyle Meuller, Seth Schmiedeknecht, Matt Ferguson, Logan Goins, and Cameron Lewis accompanied by Juniors Nick DeCouto and Antwan Burks turned
in several outstanding performances to help Coach Mikkelson
complete his 9th undefeated Conference season in a row.
We would also like to thank all of
the staff and students who volunteered their time to help work the meet,
concession stand, or simply came out to cheer on the team! It was an
outstanding home meet!
Attention All Track Athletes –
Boys and Girls: You have until 4th hour today to get your
final shirt orders in to Mr. Hector. Order must be accompanied by
payment. Thank you… I love you!
